Natson was born in Medellín Colombia on March 29, 1952; baptized under the name Jaime Cardenas Lopez, and emigrated to the USA (New York) in 1980. He holds degrees in Art, Classical Music, and Creative Writing from the College of Staten Island, City University of New York, where he teaches sculpture. The artist has been commissioned to carve several pieces for public and private institutions, among them, the "Broad Warrior" for the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management, Michigan State University, and "Polar Explorer" for the Preservation Society of Allegany County, Cumberland, MD.

His main work HOMAGE TO NATURE consists of 13 stone sculptures and a number of paintings which unfold a spiritual journey through life: from the instant of creation "The Divine Spark" (sculpture and painting No. 1), to the formation of the "Universe" ( 2), the wonders of "Our Galactic Home" (3), the realm of our "Father Sun" (4), our bountiful "Mother Earth" (5), her metamorphosis into "Budding Life" (6), "Fruitfulness" (7), "Aquatic Life" (8), "Aerial Life" (9); the stunning charm of the genders: "Feminine" (10) and "Masculine" (11); the struggle between "Man & Beast" (12) and finally  "Modern Man" (13), a being endowed with great potential to help our  cosmic garden flourish.

HOMAGE TO NATURE is his legacy to our world and intended for raising concern over a just handling of our planet's natural environment, its conservation, respect, and protection. The show is available for exhibition. Bronze casts are available upon request.
